Vegas set the Thunder’s over/under win total at 51.5 — good for fourth in the West: “In the Western Conference, the Houston Rockets, San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder are all expected to be among the top competitors to Golden State. These are also the only teams with better than 20-1 odds to win the conference, per Odds Shark.”
Enes Kanter started a fundraiser for Hurricane Harvey relief and donated $25,000: “So, from Chicago on Tuesday, Kanter told The Oklahoman he’d pledge $25,000 to Embrace Relief, a non-profit organization which focuses on humanitarian aid and disaster relief. Kanter’s contribution comes in partnership with the Raindrop Turkish Cultural Center in Houston…. “I see like everyone commenting on social media. There’s nothing wrong with that but we need to do some action. I encourage everyone to help me fund raise.” (Direct link to his fundraiser)
First look at the Jordan 32 — to be worn by Russell Westbrook this season: “The sneaker was designed by Tate Kuerbis, who also designed the Jordan 18, Jordan 19, and Jordan 31. Its design inspiration is similar to the Jordan 31: That shoe looked to the Jordan 1 for cues, and this shoe pulls from the Jordan 2. Specifically, 32 channels the Italian heritage of the Jordan 2 and uses a similar toebox. As has been the tradition recently, the shoe will be worn on court by Jordan Brand athlete Russell Westbrook.”
Kevin Durant will release a “Red Velvet” colorway of the Nike KD10: “Nike announced the newest colorway of Durant’s signature KD 10 shoe on Tuesday, a red and black flyknit shoe with a frosty white sole, dubbed the “KDX Red Velvet.” And in the picture of the announcement, the shoe is surrounded by red velvet cupcakes.”
Anthony Morrow was victim of racial profiling by police in Georgia: “Morrow, 31, detailed his story on Instagram after he was pulled over on Thursday in Jackson County without probable cause as he was driving on I-85. He wrote that two officers “damn near pulled my car apart looking for drugs and money.” Morrow said multiple times that the officers were from the Commerce (Ga.) Police Department and that he filed a complaint with the department. Commerce Police Chief Zach Ardis told USA TODAY Sports in an email that the officers mentioned by Morrow work for the Georgia State Patrol.”
Why you should bet on the Warriors to miss the playoffs: “When I think about betting advice, there’s one guy I trust: Kevin from The Office. “If anyone gives you 10,000 to one on anything, you take it. If John Mellencamp ever wins an Oscar, I am going to be a very rich dude.” Here’s why this applies: The Westgate SuperBook has put the odds on the Golden State Warriors missing the playoffs at … 1-1,000.”
Russell Westbrook is tied with Steph Curry as the top-rated PG in NBA 2K18:
