Thunder hold off the Lakers, 117-113
So that was kind of gross.
After beating the Lakers by a combined 75 points in a four-day span, the Thunder needed every little bit to hold them off this time around, withstanding 44 from Lou Williams, which included 23 in the fourth quarter.
Russell Westbrook was the saver, coming up with 36 points, which included a number of clutch buckets, and a big time assist to Steven Adams with a little over a minute left. He split a pair of free throws with 15 seconds left, leaving the door open, but Kobe couldn’t finish over the outstretched arms of Kevin Durant, and the Thunder ended up with a four-point win, instead of a 40-point one.
Above are the highlights from this one. Unfortunately, some technical difficulties are going to keep this recap to a minimum. It doesn’t feel good to keep saying, “well, at least they won,” because this performance was ugly, and quite disconcerting. Defensively, the Thunder’s inconsistency feels like a problem. Especially when you’re giving up 113 to the Lakers.
