Reports: Kevin Martin agrees to four-year deal with the Wolves
Turns out it was just a one-year rental.
According to multiple reports, Kevin Martin will sign a four-year, $28 million deal with the Timberwolves once the free agency moratorium is lifted July 10.
“Minny was my 1st option outside OKC, so I’ve got to take it,” Martin told Sam Amick of USA Today. “Especially being (with coach Rick) Adelman, and their starting lineup just needed a 2-guard, so I feel like it’s a perfect fit.”
Martin was the Thunder’s third leading scorer last season, averaging 14.0 points on 45 percent shooting, including 42.6 percent from 3. In the postseason, with his role increased due to the injury to Russell Westbrook, he averaged 14.0 points on just 38 percent shooting.
With Martin gone, it appears the Thunder are putting their eggs in the baskets of Reggie Jackson and Jeremy Lamb.
