Erik Horne: “It was a conversation Russell Westbrook said was between he and Jerami

Grant, but it was actually one worth sharing – a teaching moment in a season sure to be full of them. After the Thunder’s last-minute loss to the Lakers on Tuesday, Jerami Grant dressed alongside Westbrook and asked for advice on his defense. On the game’s deciding play, the 22-year-old bit on a pump fake, forcing Victor Oladipo to slide inside to cover Grant’s man. Grant’s man kicked out to the perimeter where Oladipo would have been. Nick Young caught the pass and launched a game-winner.”

Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald: “If the relief is granted before February’s trade deadline (good chance), the Heat could acquire quality players to fill some of the $23.7 million in 2016-17 cap space that will be created by Bosh’s removal from the cap.”If you look at some of the contracts that went out,” Heat president Pat Riley said in July, “on Dec. 15 [when free agents can be traded, Heat general manager] Andy Elisburg and I are going to be getting a lot of calls from teams about how to get rid of those deals.” Barring an unexpected Bosh comeback this season, Miami wouldn’t need to rush to fill that space before the trade deadline.”

Marc Stein of ESPN.com: “Sources said Motiejunas’ camp, convinced that the Rockets have undervalued him, has been trying to drum up interest in his client from the handful of teams around the league that possess the cap space to present a representative offer sheet. Houston, though, holds the right to match any NBA offer the 7-foot, 223-pounder receives. If Motiejunas elects to play in a foreign league this season, he would remain a restricted free agent, which would continue to give Houston right of first refusal to match any NBA offer Motiejunas gets. ‎Motiejunas could have made himself an unrestricted free agent next summer had he been willing to play out this season on Houston’s $4.4 million qualifying offer, but he let the qualifier expire Oct. 1, hopeful that a long-term deal would eventually materialize.”

Anthony Davis is so very good.

Hey great news the NBA says Nick Young traveled before his game-winner.

A very big shout out to the fine folks that helped DT run seamlessly while I was away for a few days. Specifically, this up and coming writer named Keri Young. I think she’s got a real chance.
